After living in Ubud for 2 months, We’d gotten our favs down.These first few are in Dewi Sita, right in the heart of Ubud, running between Jalan Monkey Forest and Jalan Hanoman. It’s a great little street for all sorts of foods and boutiques.

Cafe Havana

Cuban cuisine with Salsa band and delish cocktails. If you ever wanted to learn Salsa, this is the place. All wait staff dance and love dancing; they’re happy to take you for a spin at the drop of the hat. All the pork dishes in Bali are wonderful (free ranging in backyards of the island’s villages will do that) but their Pork and Black Beans are amazing. The Cuban influence brings a warmth and sweetness to all their pork and beef dishes. I don’t know if they have communist meetings in the back room, but the place does have an air of excitement and intrigue perhaps they’re planning an Indonesian revolution.
